Well, spring is almost here, and it’s time again for the Annual Chilly Blues Fest in downtown Grand Haven! This year’s fest promises to be one of the best yet, and the lineup features not only The Vincent Hayes Project, but also our friend, BMA Nominee Greg Nagy, as well as Steve Hilger Band, Big Daddy Fox, and more. This year’s headliner is Sonny Moorman from Cincinatti, OH, who will be playing both Friday & Saturday night at the Deelite Bar & Grill.

The Vincent Hayes Project will be playing on Friday, April 20 from 8:00-10:00pm at the Deelite Bar & Grill. Following us, will be Sonny Moorman. We will have the full band there, including both Christian & Doc on double keyboard duties. Although entrance to the show is free, we know from experience that there will be standing room only, so if you want to guarantee a seat, the Deelite is offering a limited number of tickets, which will reserve your spot at a table near the stage. Tickets are available at the Deelite, located at 24 Washington, Grand Haven. Click the link below for full lineup and more info:

Help The VHP get into WLAV Blues on The Mall!

The VHP has been trying to get into WLAV Blues on the Mall for a long time now. This year the radio station is offering a feedback form where fans can suggest a band they would like to see play at this year’s series. We think we are worthy, and many of you have asked us if we will ever play Blues on the Mall, so here is your chance to have a say in the matter and help your favorite blues band (hopefully the VHP!) get into one of the coolest blues concert series around-WLAV Blues on The Mall! Tell them why you think we are worthy to play there!

Follow this link to put a word in for us, and HURRY, they will be making decisions soon!

Thank you in advance for taking the time to put in a word for us!

SO, what’s up with the New CD?

Well, funny you should ask….

We are making steady progress in weekly rehearsals and continuing the writing process. We know how anxious you all are for the new disc, and I assure you that WE ARE TOO! But, we also know that it’s the music that matters, not the time frame that it takes to get it all out! The creative process can be a real roller coaster, especially when the pressure is on to present a follow up CD that is as good or better than our last one. Our sound is evolving as we allow ourselves to open up our creative energies to possibilities. We aren’t ditching the blues, but our blues is becoming more rootsy, and we’re just writing songs-songs we hope will stick in your ears for years to come. It’s less about trying to control it all than it is about allowing room for each member creative freedom, and to arrive at a place where we all feel good about the sounds we are making. Lucky for us all, so far so good! We will begin tracking at Glenn Brown Productions soon, so stay tuned to our blog on the website and our VHP Facebook page as well.

Oh yea, and if you haven’t been to a Sunday Blues Jam lately at the Deelite, you are seriously missing out on some great times, great music and an entire new group of regulars who have caught on to the fun we have there every Sunday, 4:00pm-8:00pm.

Thanks again everyone! Hope to see you all at the Deelite for Chilly Blues this Friday!

“It is rare for an artist to display such maturity on a debut release, but this album certainly marks the beginning of Hayes’s career, because I can’t imagine an artist with such creative compositions, strong voice and guitar skills could get lost in the crowd.” — Twoj Blues, Poland

“Scorching gutsy guitar work, pounding piano, clean vocals and strong songs that leave you gasping for breath and craving more. Brilliant!” — Rootstime, the Netherlands

“Inspired, persuasively pensive guitar work that might even cause Clapton to raise an eyebrow in appreciation. Two thumbs up!” — Gary von Tersch, Big City Rhythm & Blues
