Detroit Lions draft pick Ezekiel Ansah gets support from Ghanaians; read tweets from his homeland

Ansah is getting plenty of support from his native country.

DETROIT, MI – Detroit Lions draft pick Ezekiel Ansah, a defensive end from Accra, Ghana, is getting plenty of support from his native country.

Check out below some of the well wishes fellow Ghanaians gave him via Twitter after the Lions selected him Friday night with the franchise’s No. 5 pick.

The reaction on Twitter comes within a 100-kilometer radius of Ansah’s hometown.

Ansah is a 6-foot-5, 270-pound defensive end out of Brigham Young that has only about three years of organized American football experience.

He played 31 games for BYU from 2010-12 and recorded 72 tackles & 4.5 sacks.

DETROIT, MI – Rapper A$AP Rocky was a no-show Thursday night at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit “due to illness,” but he appeared healthy enough to tweet.
A$AP was supposed to open for Rihanna in Detroit; the tour, however, settled for a DJ to get the crowd warmed up for the 25-year-old 5-time Grammy Award from Barbados.
A notice describing A$AP Rocky’s health condition was posted inside Joe Louis Arena shortly before he was supposed to take the stage around 8:30 p.m. As of 9:30 a.m. Friday, he had not explained publicly why he couldn’t perform.
